India and Georgia: Key Takeaways from the 7th FOC
The 7th India-Georgia Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) took place in New Delhi on November 6, 2023. Led by Shri Sanjay Verma, Secretary (West), the Indian delegation engaged in extensive discussions with the Georgian delegation, headed by H.E. Mr. Alexander Khvtisiashvili, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia. The meeting marked the continuation of bilateral dialogues following the 6th FOC in Tbilisi in July 2022.
The discussions covered a broad spectrum of topics, including political, trade, economic, consular, cultural, and people-to-people ties, with a special focus on energy, agriculture, connectivity, and capacity building. Both sides also exchanged perspectives on regional and global issues, emphasizing their collaboration within multilateral forums. India acknowledged Georgia's active participation in the Voice of Global South Summit.
