US Cracks Down on Nuclear Proliferation

The United States has imposed sanctions on three Chinese companies and one Belarusian entity. This move comes in response to their involvement in acquiring materials for Pakistan's ballistic missile project, a development that raises concerns about proliferation activities in the region.

The sanctioned entities have played a role in supplying crucial components for Pakistan's long-range missile project. Among them, Belarus's Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant provided a specialised vehicle chassis, aiding in the launch support for missiles developed by Pakistan's National Development Complex (NDC). Meanwhile, Xi'an Longde Technology Development Company Limited from China supplied missile-related equipment used for manufacturing rocket motor cases, suggesting a malicious involvement with Pakistan's NDC.

Further exacerbating the situation, Tianjin Creative Source International Trade Co Ltd and Granpect Company Limited, both based in China, supplied the equipment needed for Pakistan's ballistic missile program. The former provided stir welding equipment and a linear accelerator system, contributing to the production and inspection of MTCR Category I ballistic missiles, while the latter facilitated the supply of testing equipment for large-diameter rocket motors.

The imposition of sanctions on these entities shows the gravity of the situation and the need for collective efforts to address proliferation risks effectively.
