Protest Against Baloch Genocide

Dr. Mahrang Baloch's impassioned plea resonates with a call for global attention and action. "I hope you are in any part of the world at this time, and if you are a humanitarian person, then you will listen to our voice, and you will raise your voice against the Baloch Genocide and help us" she implores. This heartfelt message emerges from decades of suffering in Balochistan, where the community endures enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and forced displacement. The region, rich in resources, is continuously looted, exacerbating the intensity of the genocide against the Baloch people.

"We harbour no expectations of justice from Islamabad; the institutions here seem to exist solely for the purpose of committing Baloch Genocide. The parliament functions merely to legitimize the killings of Baloch people" said Mahrang Baloch in a passionate address.

In a defiant response to this long-standing crisis, a peaceful sit-in was held for 13 days in Turbat, Balochistan. Undeterred by the initial resistance, the community embarked on a long march covering hundreds of kilometers from Turbat to Islamabad, signifying the unyielding spirit of the Baloch people. This journey, however, was fraught with severe challenges. The state's response was harsh and unyielding, employing extreme force to quell the movement, registering false FIRs, and subjecting protesters to physical violence and arrests.

As they reached the 33rd day of their movement on December 26, 2023, standing at Islamabad's National Press Club, the resilience and unity of the Baloch people were more evident than ever. Despite the myriad obstacles and the state's heavy-handed tactics, their long march has illuminated the injustices and drawn together the Baloch community in an unprecedented show of solidarity. Their presence in Islamabad sends a clear message: they demand the safe return of their protesters from jail and refuse to negotiate under duress. With a warning to the Islamabad administration, they stand firmer than ever, ready to escalate their actions if their pleas continue to be ignored. Dr. Baloch's message is a beacon, urging the world to heed their call and stand against the ongoing genocide in Balochistan.
