After failing to subvert India, George Soros funds Anti-Semitism Worldwide
Anti-Israel demonstrations at universities across the United States have recently drawn attention to the complex network of individuals, organisations, and significant financial resources that support campus activism against Israel. These protests are linked to groups with far-left ideologies, funded by dark money and liberal mega-donors such as George Soros, a controversial Hungarian-American billionaire.
The National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP), a national body with ties to approximately 200 independent chapters, has been particularly outspoken. NSJP is managed by the Westchester Peace Action Committee Foundation (WESPAC), a fiscal sponsor that has received a donation in the six-figure range from a nonprofit funded by the George Soros network. WESPAC has a history of anti-Israel rhetoric, accusing the government of “apartheid,” “ethnic cleansing,” “collective punishment,” and “war crimes.”
Another active group at Columbia, Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), has received at least $650,000 from groups linked to Soros since 2016. JVP has also received funds from the billionaire-backed Rockefeller Fund. The parent organisation of SJP has been financed by a network of nonprofits ultimately funded by Soros, the billionaire left-wing investor.
At three colleges, the protests are being spurred on by paid radicals who are “fellows” of a Soros-funded group called the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR). USCPR offers up to $7,800 to its community-based fellows and between $2,880 and $3,660 to its campus-based “fellows” in exchange for dedicating eight hours a week to organising “campaigns led by Palestinian organisations.”
This radical group has received at least $300,000 from Soros’ Open Society Foundations since 2017 and has also received $355,000 from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund since 2019. The Rockefeller Brothers Fund, which also donated to JVP, is chaired by Joseph Pierson and includes David Rockefeller Jr, a fourth-generation member of the oil dynasty, on its board of directors.
India maintains a supportive stance towards a two-state solution in the Israel-Palestine conflict, advocating for a sovereign Palestinian state alongside Israel. India has not allowed it to deter its growing relationship with Israel. George Soros has funded subversive civil sector activities in India including election interference. These activities have attracted criticism, especially his targeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Munich Security Conference last year, which drew sharp reactions from Indian officials and citizens. He has been accused of scaremongering and labelled as a “dangerous” person.
Union Minister Smriti Irani urged Indians to respond unitedly to “foreign powers who try to intervene in India’s democratic processes” and termed Soros’ statement a “declaration to destroy India’s democratic processes”. This strong condemnation reflects the Indian government’s stance against perceived foreign interference in its domestic affairs.
